Driving Source of Change for Ionosphere before Large Earthquake -Vertical Ground Motion-

چکیده

This paper discusses the relationship between vertical ground motion and ionospheric disturbances before Kumamoto earthquake on 16 April 2016, in Kyushu, Japan, using measured by slant gauges widely distributed NmF2 observed ionosondes Japan another region. We provide evidence that excites internal gravity waves (IGWs) disturb changes plasma density. From spectral analysis results of data, summation various period (frequency) components analyzed from original data gauge shows a possible correlation with change earthquake. On other hand, influence geomagnetic disturbance seems to exist. However, we cannot confirm is influenced (Kp index) triggered disturbance. There are two conditions for variations density: (1) The effective should be shorter than 5 h. In addition, (2) continue exist so wave energy can continuously injected into atmosphere. A mechanism which modify ionosphere discussed. this study basis future precursors earthquakes motion.

Variations of Strong Earthquake Ground Motion In

Accelerograms recorded at six stations in the metropolitan Los Angeles area during the Borrego Mountain, 1968, the Lytle Creek, 1970, and the San Fernando, 1971, earthquakes in southern California have been studied. In comparing the ground motions recorded during different earthquakes at each of the six stations and in correlations of these motions recorded at different stations during the same...

Parallel Octree-Based Finite Element Method for Large-Scale Earthquake Ground Motion Simulation

We present a parallel octree-based finite element method for large-scale earthquake ground motion simulation in realistic basins. The octree representation combines the low memory per node and good cache performance of finite difference methods with the spatial adaptivity to local seismic wavelengths characteristic of unstructured finite element methods. Several tests are provided to verify the...

New source spectral model and strong ground motion simulation of the 1994 M6.7 Northridge earthquake

ABSTRACT: This paper checked, appended and corrected the strong motion database of Western U.S. on site conditions and so on first, and then recommends a new source spectral model and model parameters depending on the statistical analysis to acceleration Fourier spectra of these strong motion recordings. The new source spectral model has some further improvement to Brune ω 2 model and Atkinson ...

The near - Source Ground Motion of the 6 August 1979 Coyote Lake , California , Earthquake

A finite fault striking N24°W and extending to a depth of 10 km is proposed to explain the strong ground motion data for the 6 August 1979 Coyote Lake, California, earthquake (M, = 5.9). Our source model suggests that right-lateral faulting initiated at a depth of 8 km and ruptured toward the south with a velocity of 2.8 km/sec. This unilateral rupture can explain the large displacement recorde...
